A Pukeko is a native bird of New Zealand. A Pukeko has a beak with a shield on it's head. A Pukeko has red legs but there like a Takahe's. It has dark blue feathers on its back and black feathers on its front.  They have red ruby eyes. A Pukeko lives in a grassy pond and grassy swamp. Pukeko' s clean their babies and itself. It flies and dies in 3 years. In conclusion Pukeko babies have white on their beak and red on it's head and beak.
