Pukeko.
A Pukeko is a native bird of New Zealand. A Pukeko is also known as the swamp hen. A Pukeko has tall legs and a ruby red beak. It has a shield over its beak. The Pukeko has dark black feathers on its back and has blue feathers on its stomach. A Pukeko lives near swamps or in grassy areas by a river. In the morning sun the Pukeko cleans itself with the water from the pond. The Pukeko dries itself with the morning sun. The Pukeko is found near ponds,swamps and warm places. When the Pukeko is in danger they scratch with there claws.
