Night Zookeeper- Writing post Term 3

Today's Training-For Olympics.
Today I got up at 5 am, the sun was just coming up.  I put on my active wear and set off to the shot put training area.  When I got there it was as cold as ice. There were already a group of girls practicing there 100 meter sprints.  I didn't worry as I was there to train.  I put on my hand covers and got to work.   Firstly I worked on my arm technique and then on my foot work.  I really needed to work on how strong I should push the ball.  Then I had a little break, to cool down as the day was warming up quickly. It was all most 7 am and the sun was shining brightly in the sky.  I got back into action, practicing my aim. Once I was finished I went onto weight lifting. I did as much as I could, but the day was getting hotter and hotter and I started to get hungry. I needed to refuel my body.  Some of the other athletes started to arrive for their training, especially the swimmers.  I really needed to concentrate on my own training.  I put myself to the real test, putting all of my work into action 1..2..3.. I counted then push. Off went the shot put, it was my best throw to date, a personal best.  That was a good way to end my training. It was off to the showers and for a yummy, fruity, carb- loaded smoothie.
